South Western Railway, Hubli, clinch title in the women's category

Indian Navy, Lonavala clinched the 64th All-India Basketball Tournament for the L.R.G Naidu Memorial Cup held at the Thiruvalluvar Ground, Karur, recently. In the summit clash, Indian Navy, Lonovala defeated Indian Airforce, New Delhi 64-55 to emerge champions.

The high-profile tournament witnessed 78 players in action in the men's category with Northern Railway, New Delhi and ICF, Chennai finishing third and fourth place.

Indian Airforce, New Delhi, were the runners up.

Gowrav of Indian Navy and Santhosh of Indian Airforce were adjudged the best players of the final from the respective teams.

The winners received a cheque of Rs 1 lakh and a trophy, while the runners up team walked away with a trophy and a reward of Rs 80,000/-. Northern Railway, New Delhi and ICF, Chennai, who ended up third and fourth in the tournament were handed a cheque and a trophy of Rs 60,000/- & Rs 50,000/- each respectively.

In the women's category, South Western Railway, Hubli, defeated Central Railway, Mumbai 61-53 in the final to clinch the title. Kruthika of South Western Railway, Hubli and Rajeshwari of Central Railway, Mumbai were adjudged the best players of the final from the respective teams. Western Railway, Mumbai and Northern Railway, New Delhi, finished third and fourth in the tournament.

South Western Railway, Hubli, the winners, received a cheque of Rs 75,000 and a trophy, while the runners up Central Railway, Mumbai, were awarded with Rs 40,000 and a trophy. Western Railway, Mumbai and Northern Railway, New Delhi, who finished third and fourth, bagged Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively with a trophy.
