A look at the likely medal winners for India

This series of our potential medal winners for India in the Paris Olympics 2024 concludes with another set of exceptional athletes. Some of these people are young, talented individuals who have put in a lot of effort and have a goal of making their country proud through the Olympics. All the athletes have showcased great talent in their specialties and have been doing their best on the world platform. Following are ten more athletes who can make India proud and win medals in the biggest sporting event in the world.

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty — Badminton (Men’s Doubles) 

It is not a new thing to hear about the pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, the Indian badminton followers. Some of the achievements include winning the gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games as well as the 2022 BWF World Tour Finals. He and his partner are known to launch powerful attacks and have excellent cooperation, and that is why they are considered Olympic medal contenders. 

HS Prannoy – Badminton – Men’s Singles 

HS Prannoy is among the top Indian players who have made their mark in the global badminton arena. He is a powerful attacker known for his ferocious smashes and aggressive tactics on the court.  He won a bronze medal in the 2022 BWF World Championships and has other championship titles under his belt, such as those in the BWF World Tour. From the form has been exhibiting, there is a high possibility that he will get a medal in Paris.

Lakshya Sen – Badminton – Men’s Singles 

Lakshya Sen is one of the young talents of Indian badminton who is performing well in international tournaments. Swift and skillful in his movement hev has clinched several awards; He was the  champion in the 2022 Commonwealth Games and clinched the silver medal at the 2021 BWF World Championships. With his quick ascent in the rankings, coupled with his current successes against some of the world’s greatest opponents, he is well poised to vie for a spot on the rostrum in Paris.

Arjun Babuta:- Shooting (Men’s 10m Air Rifle, 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team). 

Within the shoot, Arjun Babuta has proved to be a strong athlete, especially in the men's and mixed-team categories. He has many national and international medals, including gold at the ISSF Junior World Cup, due to his accuracy and reliability. Having reserved a quota for Paris 2024, Arjun is in a good position to do well and can hope to clinch a medal. 

Diksha Dagar – Golf (Women’s). 

Diksha Dagar is one of India's best golfers and has brought laurels for Indian golf to the international arena. At the 2017 Deaflympics, she clinched one silver medal, and she has also been a winner on the LET. Diksha has been improving her ranking and performing well in various events, which makes her a contender for the medals in Paris. 

Srihari Nataraj – Swimming (Men’s 100m Backstroke). 

Srihari Nataraj is one of India’s brightest swimming talents. He has set many national records, made it to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, and shown a lot of improvement since then. Currently in good form at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and other international competitions, Srihari may very well make a name for himself in the 100m backstroke race in the Paris Olympics.

Dhinidhi Desinghu – Swimming – Women’s 200m Freestyle 

Dhinidhi Desinghu is one of the prospective swimmers in India and has given her best at the national level as well as international level competitions. Therefore, she is among the swimmers to watch out for due to her performance at the Asian Age Group Championships and her records in the freestyle events. Luckily, Dhinidhi is a quick learner and is full of commitment; she can compete with many and win a medal in Paris. 

Men’s Singles and Team – Table Tennis – Sharath Kamal 

Sharath Kamal is one of the top table tennis players from India who has been in the sport for over two decades. He has won many medals, such as those in the Commonwealth Games and the singles and team events. He is a key member of the Indian table tennis team mainly due to his knowledge and expertise. Sharath has been a leader and very consistent; he might have been instrumental in clinching a medal for India in Paris.

Manika Batra – Table Tennis (Women’s Team and Singles) 

Manika Batra is a famous lady table tennis player and a real fighter in India. She won four medals in the 2018 CommonWealth Games, two of which were gold, and she made history by helping India win a bronze medal in the 2018 Asian Games. Manika plays very aggressively and is also a very mentally tough player. She stands a chance of clinching a medal in the singles and team events in Paris. 

Shubhankar Sharma – Golf (Men) 

Shubhankar Sharma is one of the finest golfers in India who has made remarkable achievements on the European Tour recently. Sharma has two European Tour titles and played well at the 2018 WGC-Mexico Championship, where he finished T9. He is a very good golfer; in fact, he has the capability to bring a medal for India at the Paris Championships.
