Coimbatore and Chengalpattu enter final
Coimbatore and Chengalpattu entered the final of the TNCA Inter Districts U-19 tournament.
In the three-days game held on from June 4 to 6, Coimbatore advanced at Kancheepuram's expense by virtue of its First innings lead. Batting first at Wahe Guru B ground, Coimbatore scored 398 for five in 90 overs in the first innings thanks mainly to Hari K Pandya who scored 90.
In response, Thasish Kannan's five for 52 derailed Kancheepuram, which managed only 180. Sreenath Kumar's 62 was not enough for Kancheepuram.
Chengalpattu scored a big 298-run win over Ranipet, at VB Nest ground to reach the final.
Chengalpattu was well served by D Deepesh who scored an unbeaten 75, and Prem Pandiaraj who picked up five wickets for 36.

Coimbatore 398/5 in 90 overs & 180/6 in 40 overs (L R Nawin 37, Hari K Pandya 90, A Sharvin 3/32, V Jayant 3/51) drew with Kancheepuram 180 in 78 overs (Sreenath Kumar 62, Thasish Kannan 5/52 & 5/84 in 25 overs (Sreenath Kumar 39, R A Devprasad 3/48).
Coimbatore took 1st innings lead and advanced to the Final.
At VB Nest Ground, Chennai: Chengalpattu 329 & 199/7 in 40 overs (D Deepesh 75 n.o, M Naveen 4/78) beat Ranipet 128 & 102 in 28.1 overs (K Hemprasath 33, Prem Pandiaraj 5/36).
Chengalpattu won by 298 runs and advanced to the Final.
