S Saran quickfire century the cornerstone of the team’s win
S. Saran’s blistering 106 off just 8 balls, which included 13 fours and a six helped Nellai Nadar post a win against Sir Mutha School in the first round of the league game of the Take Rotary Serenity Cup cricket tournament for u-19 school cricketers. The matches were held on September 2 across various grounds.
Nellai Nadar’s 310 for seven in 50 overs was largely based on Saran’s knock, with useful contributions from other batters. Sir Mutha, in reply, was bowled out for 255, with K. Hayavadan (61) being their top scorer.
In another group B Sandeep’s fifer (5/15) helped Lalaji Memorial Omega (NIOS) bowl out Govt. HSS, Pudur cheaply for an easy win.
