Jeppiaar overwhelms PSBB Millennium while St. Bede’s downs Sri Jayendra GJS
Jeppiaar Matric and St. Bede’s will clash in the final of the Jeppiaar Trophy u-19 inter-school tournament 2024 on Monday at Wahe Guru ‘A’ Ground.
In the semifinals of the 50-overs game St. Bede’s defeated Sri Jayendra GJS, while Jeppiaar Matric got the better of PSBB Millennium.
Jeppiaar Matric made quick work of PSBB Millennium bundling them out for 47, with player of the match Anto Jeffrin and Aradhya Gupta picking up three wickets apiece.
In the other semifinal, St. Bede’s was well served by D. Shailesh Dev (67), skipper V. Shavin (66 not out) and S. Srivatsan (59 not out), making light of Sri Jayendra GJS total of 201. Player of the match V. Shavin was involved in a couple of 50 plus partnerships with Shailesh for the second wicket and Srivatsan for the fourth wicket. For Sri Jayendra GJS, Goslic Vijay (63), S. Sakthivel (49) and D.M. Mithun (44) were the main contributors, with Vijay and Sakthi adding 114 runs in 163 balls for the second wicket.
