SCSVMV University secures a win on Day 1
R.S Athavan's three for six and A Logith's all-round show (2/10and 34 not out) helped SCSVMV University beat Vinayaga Mission University in the Founder’s Birthday Trophy Festival which began on August 1, 2024.
SCSVMV after putting in the opposition to bat bowled them out for 70. R.S. Athavan, who picked up three wickets for just six runs, was declared the player of the match. P. Bharath, Logith and Dhyanesh R picked up two wickets apiece. SCSVMV rattled up the required score in quick time, thanks to Logith's quick 34.
In other matches, Sri Sai Ram Engg College, Sri Vasavi College Erode and VIT Chennai also posted wins.
The tournament was organized by the Directorate of Sports. This grand event featured around 2000 sportspersons from all over India, competing for prizes worth Rs. 10 lakhs. The Cricket Founders Trophy, inaugurated by Dr. Vivek N., Dean of SRM Kattankulathur Dental College and Hospital at 7:00 am, saw 12 teams participating in a knockout format.
