Boopathi Vaishna Kumar's 111 (110b, 13x4, 3x6), helped Take Solutions-MRC 'A' lift its maiden VAP trophy (one dayers for First Division).
In the day-night final against Kalpathi Investments-Young Stars CC, played at the MAC Chidambaram stadium on June 2, Boopathi kept his team in the hunt with a couple of 50 plus partnerships. For the third wicket he added 64 with Affan Khader.
The fourth wicket stand, between Boopathi and skipper Anirudh Sitaram, added 93 runs.
Earlier, opting to bat, Young Stars put up 254, thanks to Ram Arvindh who scored 87.
The opening pair of Ram & Hari Nishaanth added 115 runs in 121 balls. Useful contributions came from C. Hari Nishaanth (50), and J. Kousik (26).
Boopathi was named the player of the final and took home a cheque for ₹ 5000.
Apart from the VAP trophy, MRC ‘A’ CC, was richer by ₹ 1 lakh.
Young Stars C C took home the Runners Trophy and ₹Rs.50,000.
National Selector and former Tamil Nadu cricketer S Sharath was the Chief Guest.
TNCA Hon. Treasurer T.J. Srinivasaraj gave away the trophies and prizes at brief function immediately after the match.
