Asiatic Cricket Transformers beat Ramji CA by 44 runs in the final

Asiatic Cricket Transformers won the Prasanna Memorial Trophy 2024 U16 cricket tournament defeating Ramji Cricket Academy by 44 runs in the final at the IACA Cricket Ground, Thantalam, recently.

Opting to bat, Asiatic Cricket Transformers were bowled out for 123 in 29.2 overs with wicket-keeper batter and opener Hashwant Murugan (26 off 32 balls) being the top-scorer. The combined efforts of Ramji CA bowlers - J Jishnu Kailash (2/16), A Ashwinn (2/19), Devesh (2/14) and Ganapathy Muthukumar (2/13) - ensured that Asiatic didn't bat their full quota of overs.

However, in reply, a spirited performance from Asiatic bowlers led by Deepak Shree Priyan (3/15) meant that Ramji CA were bundled out for 79 in 23.1 overs. Ganapathy, who had earlier claimed two wickets, was the top-scorer for Ramji CA with 20 off 14 balls.

Defending a low total, Asiatic used as many as seven bowlers and every one of them were amongst the wickets with Deepak being the best of the pack.

Hashwant Murugan was adjudged the player of the series for scoring 323 runs in four matches including two hundreds and one fifty.
